Rotovž is becoming the new cultural centre of Maribor. Under one roof, it brings together three institutions: the city library, the city gallery exhibition space, and the city cinema hall. With this transformation, it receives a new name: Rotovž, City House of Culture.
The visual identity is inspired by the building’s distinctive architecture. More precisely, by the arches that define Rotovž even before its renovation and appear across its different façades.
We translate the arch into a basic visual building block, creating a strong, modular, and adaptable system. It reflects the multifunctional nature of the space, the diversity of its content, and the meeting of people, while enabling clear, consistent, and recognisable communication across all touchpoints.
The architectural motif of the arch becomes a modular visual system that connects the library, gallery, and cinema into one identity for the new City House of Culture. The solution was selected as the third-best entry in the competition.
